4. 老年人运动建议 Doctors recommend that older people should excersice regularly. However many of them do not exercise enough. What are the causes? What can be done to encourage them to exercise?
Nowadays, it is strongly advised by medical professionals that the elderly people are supposed to exercise regularly, but a large number of them lack working out. This essay will examine two reasons for this phenomenon and present solutions to motivate the older individuals.
The primary reason why seniors not engaging in sports practice regularly is that they do not being fully supported, mainly because of insufficient sports facilities and exercising guidance provided by professional individuals. Many seniors confuse that which type of workout is suitable or safe for their physical conditions. In order to prevent injuries, seniors decide to not engage in physical activities. Another fundamental cause is related to the elderly’s unique physical characteristics. Unlike the young generation, the elderly has health concerns or chronic diseases such as arthritis or heart disease. For example, a 75-year old may fear of injury even when doing light or non-competitive exercise like brisk walking.
To address this, the government must play a pivotal role. Firstly, authorities should invest in accessible, age-friendly facilities within local communities, such as table tennis table or low-impact walking paths, allowing seniors to participate easily by themselves or with their friends regularly. Secondary, communities should allocate resources to health education. This could be done by providing “Tailored excise classes” by professional doctors or coaches, as many older people are uncertain how to exercise correctly. Consequently, the older generation understands how to protect themselves while exerting, helping them to eliminate the fear of getting hurt. Therefore, older people feel secure to work out regularly.
