Last Sunday afternoon, my husband and I accompanied my young daughter, Micheal, to play in the park near our community. It was cool, the sun was shining wind was blowing gently, birds were singing and children were playing happily. But all of a sudden, a deafening cry from Micheal reached my ears she fell off her bicycle. I rushed to her and found that she perhaps hurt her ankle. My husband and I took her to hospital as quickly as possible: On the way there, I kept her in my arms and tried to relieve her pain, but nothing helped.
We waited in the waiting area, where there was a familiar atmosphere of boredom and tension. People sat uncomfortably on plastic chairs, looking through old magazines, all of which had been read hundreds of times previously.: Other anxious parents lso did what they could to comfort their nervous and crying children.
Micheal's ankle was now twice its normal size, and since getting there, she had been spending her time crying in pain, which made us more tense. Finally, a young doctor and the on-duty nurse began to treat her injury, and at the same time we tried our best to comfort her, but whatever we did still couldn't stop her tears from streaming down.
To our amazement, a man in a white coat with a curly rainbow wig, a big red nose, and a name badge "Doctor Samuel Laugh-out-loud", came in the waiting area and approached us. I realized that he must be one of the clown doctors, who comfort the sick children in the hospital. And they would make the nervous parents feel better and at the same time even cheer up the hospital staff. They are not medical doctors, though.
