The issue of whether the government should allocate public funding to art has sparked a heated debate. Given that an aesthetic environment can significantly uplift our spirit and enhance people's mental health, it is advisable to provide art issues with financial resources.
People nowadays are increasingly busy dealing with school and work tasks, making them feel exhausted. Most of them do not have ideal health conditions. Therefore, it is critical to support individuals' health by demonstrating harmonious masterpieces through holding painting exhibitions or launching sculpture competitions.
Moreover, with the support of the authorities, talented people are more willing and confident in pouring their energy into art because the industry is of important value to the country. They might be intended to pursue their lifelong callings as artists. For instance, my little sister was profoundly inspired by the paintings hung on the walls of the government's building. From that time, she was encouraged to enter an art school, majoring in art history .
Although Claire mentions that the funding comes from taxes and should not be used on these items, from my perspective, the advocation of art and aesthetics awareness is a matter of public interest. Thus, it is reasonable to use public money.
