In my opinion, governments should give creative artists reasonable restrictions in order to help them express themselves correctly. Sometimes, giving artists too much freedom is a bad thing for creating a good social environment. Some creations might be filled with too much violence and unhealthy thoughts. This might lead to bad results. For instance, young children don’t have a good control over their behaviors, and they haven’t built up their value, so it’s easy for them to be influenced. This can be bad for the future of kids, the society,and even human beings. Some works might spread thoughts against the government,which can also bring huge harm to the stable society. However, to much restriction can be a disaster for thoughts. For example, in the ancient times of China, emperors used to use all kinds of methods to control the thoughts of their citizens. This caused the ossification of thoughts and the weaken of wisdom. This slowed down the process of development and ended in losing the several wars against invaders. Another example, is the Spring and Autumn period of Chinese history.This was a period when the kings fought each other frequently. Every man of insight made their own attempts to fit into this environment. Countless ideologists appeared, and greatly influenced later generations. Such as Confucius and Mengzi. All in all,I think it is necessary for governments to give creative artists reasonable restrictions that wouldn’t block their thoughts , and lead them to express themselves in a better way at the same time.
